Super Seed Kit // Australian Cereals, Pulses and Oilseeds

Grains Research & Development Corporation (GRDC), Australian Grain Technologies (AGT) and Primary Industries Education Foundation Australia (PIEFA) have partnered to create the Super Seed Kit!

This Kit aims to equip you with hands-on resources and engaging classroom activities to help your students develop an understanding of Australian cropping varieties. Designed with the Science, Design and Technologies, and Agricultural student in mind, the Kit provides teachers with lessons, resources and information to support experiential learning about cereals, oilseeds and pulses.

This Super Seed Kit is relevant and useful to students from F-12.

For Western Australian schools: A WA-specific version of the Super Seed Kit is available to meet Western Australia’s biosecurity requirements. This version excludes seeds that are restricted from entry into WA, including maize and sorghum. Teachers and students can still explore these seeds using the Super Seed Kit Digital Resource below. Super Seed Kit Digital Resource

The FREE Super Seed Kit Digital Resource is now available, providing teachers and students with flexible access to the Super Seed Kit in the classroom. Featuring high-resolution images of every seed in the Super Seed Kit, the digital resource allows students to observe, sketch, measure, compare and describe cereals, oilseeds and pulses while completing the Super Seed Kit worksheets. Use it alongside the physical kit or as an alternative when seeds are unavailable or cannot be handled directly.
