Developed through collaboration between Wine Australia and the Primary Industries Education Foundation Australia, the Plant Breeding for Resilience in Australia’s Wine Industry resource for years 7–10 explores the environmental, economic, and social challenges impacting Australia’s wine industry and explore how these challenges are addressed through science, technology, and innovation.

Students will examine a real-world research project focused on breeding mildew-resistant grapevines and evaluate the role of sustainability in future-focused industry practices. Through group discussions and collaborative learning tasks, students will analyse the importance of cross-sector collaboration in responding to industry challenges. Using this knowledge, they will research and design a career profile pamphlet highlighting key occupations involved in creating a resilient, sustainable wine industry.
