Merino Fleece Judging – Quick Guide | Agricultural Shows Australia
Young judging provides young people with the opportunity to develop lifelong skills in visually assessing fleeces and public speaking through comparing fleeces against each other. These skills not only develop a better understanding of Merino sheep and the wool industry, they also enable young people to make a valuable contribution to the industry.
The young paraders competition provides 15 to 25-year-olds the opportunity to develop lifelong skills while building their confidence and providing networking opportunities with leaders in the agriculture industry.
This Merino Fleece Judging Quick Guide informs teachers and students on the competition, which gives young people the unique and important opportunity to work directly with Merino sheep, focusing on the wool.
Access this online resource (with downloadable PDF guide), which is 1 of 9 guides that provides valuable information, delivering a thorough understanding of where to start, what to look for in each individual species judging, how the competitions work, and tips on giving the oral speech at the conclusion of each Agricultural Shows Australia‘s Young Judges and Paraders Competition.
