A Day in the Life of the Minyip Butcher

Raised in a farming family, a week’s work experience during high school at a local butcher changed the course of one man’s career. For the past 25 years John Drum has been working as the local butcher in Minyip, a small town of around 500 people made famous for being the location for the television series The Flying Doctors.

John runs the business along with his wife, their four kids, who help out during the school holidays, and a part-time employee Gary.

Learn about how a week’s work experience helped make a career as a butcher. Meet John Drum has been working as a local butcher in Minyip, a small town in Western Victoria, for 25 years.
