African Swine Fever is a devastating disease that affects pigs around the world. Currently the disease has no method of control and is a major problem in all pig production countries in the world. Because there is no control for the disease, it is imperative that we keep the disease out of Australia, to protect our economically important pork industry.

This resource provides a number of detailed classroom activities that link with the Animal Production content areas of the NSW Agricultural Technology 7-10 syllabus and also will be very relevant to other year 9 and 10 Animal Production programs across Australia. This assists with understanding management of pig production to reduce the impact of ASF and provides a number of activities to allow focus on the disease to assist in understanding the importance of the disease to the pig industry in Australia today.
