Sustainable Food Systems

Introducing the concept of sustainability, this exciting teacher resource takes students on a journey of discovery as they critically analyze how their food choices impact the physical environment. Designed to encourage students to think about the long-term effects of their actions, this lesson plan explores the seven core practices of food sustainability and challenges students to put their newfound knowledge into practice.

Through hands-on learning activities, students will gain a deep understanding of what sustainability means and how they can contribute to a more sustainable food system for the future. By designing and creating a healthy fast food meal deal, students will be able to apply the criteria of food sustainability and see the practical implications of their decisions.

This lesson plan is the perfect opportunity for students to take an active role in shaping the future of our planet and to develop an appreciation for the interconnectivity of the food system and the environment
